Lavender Extends Points Lead

Mooresville, NC (05/19/09) - Hartsville native, Jody Lavender, didn’t have a good finish in the NASCAR Camping World East Series in Newton, Iowa last weekend but it was good enough for him to increase his points lead.

The race, which was won by NASCAR “stand-out” Kyle Busch, was a combination race between the East and West series of the Camping World Division.

Jody started 31st and finished 21st which was good enough for 10th place in the East Division. He now has a 26-point lead over Eddie McDonald and a 38-point lead over last year’s defending champion, Matt Kobyluck.

The next race in the East Series is at South Boston, VA on Saturday, May 30th.

Jody said, “I look forward to going back to South Boston. It has always been one of my favorite tracks and we have always run good there.”

Jody drives for the Jimmy Burgess JBR racing team from Methuen, MA and the car is sponsored by Hartsville Mini-Storage and JoJo Enterprises, a real estate investment company.
