Points Leader Jody Lavender to Race in Iowa
Mooresville, NC (05/03/09) - When the 2009
racing series began, Jody Lavender was scheduled to run
only 3 races. But after the first two races, Jody is
leading the NASCAR Camping World East points and has
added the Sunday May 17th Iowa race to his schedule. He
will also race in South Boston, VA on May 30th.
The
Iowa race is a combination race with drivers from both
the NASCAR East and West Series competing against each
other. “King Richard Petty” will be the grand marshal
and Kyle Busch is scheduled to compete after competing
in the NASCAR Sprint Series All-Star race in Charlotte
the night before. The Iowa race is scheduled for Sunday,
May 17th, at 4:15 pm and will be replayed on the Speed
Channel TV network on Thursday, May 21st at 3:00 pm.
Jody said, “I look forward to going back to Iowa. Last
year we had major problems but this year we have a
different car, a different color, a different engine,
and a motivated car owner and pit crew. We also want to
thank our sponsor Jo-Jo Enterprises, a real estate
investment company, and Hartsville Mini-Storage for
making this possible. We’re all motivated to continue
the momentum we’ve had in the first two races. We didn’t
plan to run the Iowa race but winning races and a
championship is something I’ve always wanted to do. We
now have a good chance to do this and I’ll do all I can
to make it happen.”
