Lavender Still Optimistic
 

Durham, NC (October 1, 2007) - The first two races of the Hooters Pro-Cup Championship were not good for Jody Lavender. In the first race at Mansfield, Ohio, he was running 4th when he was spun out and finished 16th. In the second race at Newton, Iowa, he had a good run going until a miscue on a pit stop cost him 4 laps. He was able to make up 1 lap but finished 26th, three laps down. After starting 7th in the points battle, he is now 17th.

But according to Jody, “We still think we can rebound and end up with a good finish in the points. We had a good car in the first two races and we still have good cars.” Jody will get his chance when the series moves to Myrtle Beach Speedway Saturday night for the third of the five-race series. Jody said, “I always look forward to going to Myrtle Beach. We run good there but our luck hasn’t been too good lately. We have a good team and a great sponsor in Greased Lightning and we won’t give up. We’ll do our best to get a win for our many fans and friends in the area. It’s always good to come back home.”

Race time is 7:30 Saturday night. The final two championship races will be at South Georgia on October 20th and Lakeland Florida on November 3rd.
