Lavender Finishes 4th and 6th
 

Durham, NC (August 13, 2007) - Jody Lavender finished 6th in the last race of the Northern Division of the Hooters Pro-Cup series at South Boston, Va. He also finished 4th in the final points standings of the Northern Division. On September 1st, the first of five races for the National Championship will begin at the Mansfield(Ohio) Motorsports Speedway. The top 30 drivers from the Northern Division and the top 30 drivers from the Southern Division will battle for the 36 starting positions in each of the five races. Other races will be at Iowa Speedway, Myrtle Beach Speedway, South Georgia Motorsports Park, and USA International Speedway in Lakeland Florida.

After the South Boston race Jody said, “We had a good car today and qualified 6th but then the alternator went out and we had to start in the rear. We also developed some handling problems and made three unscheduled pit stops but our team didn’t give up and improved the car enough to get us a strong 6th place finish. The track announcer, Gene Crane, refers to us as the “Insomnia Team” because of the long sleepless hours we have worked this year but we did what we had to do and it has paid off for us. A big thanks goes to all of the JFCO Motorsports team, Jay Fogleman, and our sponsor Greased Lightning. We’re looking forward to the five National Championship races.” Jody also received a $250 award for being the best qualifying driver of the Greased Lightning Clean Team.

This award is sponsored by Greased Lightning and The Works. Eight drivers compete for contingency awards at each series race. The best qualifying driver and the highest finishing driver each receive $250 each. A $25,000 end of the season bonus will be paid to team members based on points earned on the track and off the track for charities and marketing work done on behalf of Greased Lightning and The Works.
