“Insomnia Team” Hopes Hard Work Will Win
 

Durham, NC (June 18, 2007) - All race team members, drivers, and owners know how much hard work goes into building and keeping a race car running. They know that there are rewards and happiness when they win races but they know that there will be times of disappointment, frustration, and times of sacrificing in order to try to be better. There are also times of wondering if it is worth all the hard work and sacrifices.

One team that has worked much harder than they would prefer to is the JFCO team owned by Jay Fogleman, with drivers Fogleman and Jody Lavender. These two drivers not only depended on the crews to get the cars ready but they jumped in and helped. The long hours they have worked has earned them the name of “The Insomnia Team”.

Before the first race at South Boston, they worked 50+ hours around the clock to get the car ready. With little sleep and pre-race practice, they were satisfied with finishing 8th. Then they carried both cars to Peach State but Jody’s engine didn’t arrive until later Friday afternoon and again they had to work around the clock to get ready. On race day, Jay’s car experienced engine problems and Jody’s was crashed later in the race. The car suffered extensive damage that required a new front chassis and suspension. The Mansfield race was the next weekend. The car was not completed until Friday morning after 40+ hours of around the clock working. The results at Mansfield were a DNF late in the race after running strong earlier in the race.

With all the disappointments and long hours worked, it would be easy for this team to give up but that is not what has happened. They now have forgotten most of the past problems because they were beyond their control. They will carry both cars to Myrtle Beach and hope their luck will change and their hard work will pay off. They will go with a more aggressive attitude and more determined to show that the Greased Lightning-JFCO team is a winner and that all the hard “round the clock” work will pay off for the “Insomnia Team”.

Most all race teams experience similar situations and are to be commended for the dedication they have to racing.
