Lavender Ends Season and Team Closes

Mooresville, NC (November 29, 2006) - After the final race of the 2006 season at the Lakeland Speedway in the Hooters Pro-Cup series, Jody Lavender announced that it was also the final race of an 11-year family owned racing team.

Jody finished 31st in the final race when a blown engine sent him to the pits. Jody said, “We started 13th, led a few laps, and finished 31st. We expected better and hoped for better in our last run but “that’s racing”. It has its ups and downs. We’ve had a respectable 11 years with our family owned team but it’s hard to be a contender with a limited budget.

I’d like to thank all of those who helped me get this far; our crew members, our sponsors, and our faithful family and friends. It’s unbelievable how many people have supported me and encouraged me over the years.”

Jody continued, “I said earlier that racing has its ups and downs. This is a down point but the up side is that I’ll be racing again next year. I have a good deal that will be the best of my racing career. I can’t disclose the details now but we’ll make an announcement in the next few days. Again, thanks to those who have helped me get this far and the future looks good.”
