Lavender Moves from 29th to 8th at Bristol

Mooresville, NC (August 25, 2006) - Hartsville native, Jody Lavender, started 29th in the Hooters Pro Cup race in Bristol, Tennessee but rallied and finished 8th for another top-10 finish. Lavender is 9th in the Southern points division with only one race remaining at Lakeland, Florida on September 2nd. The points race is still very close and mathematically, Jody has a slight chance to move into the top-five or to fall back to 12th place.

After the Bristol race, Jody said, “We always want to win but this is one time that we’re happy with a 8th place finish. We didn’t bring our best car tonight and the H & R Block/Heritage Community Bank sponsored car wasn’t quite as strong as the leaders but we were strong enough and lucky enough to stay out of the wrecks and survive at Bristol.”

The National Championship series will begin September 15th at the new 7/8 mile speedway in Newton (near to Des Moines) Iowa. Jody said, “We have heard that it is very fast with the ARCA cars reaching speeds of over 170 mph. We’re looking forward to it.” The National Championship series consists of six races and ends at Lakeland, Florida on November 25th.
