Lavender
Falls Short at Peach State
Mooresville, NC (August 13, 2006) - Jody Lavender made a strong
comeback at the end of the Peach State race but came up a little short and
finished 11th.
He had started 13th, moved up into the top 10, but after about 50 laps, the
car wouldn’t turn in the corner and he soon went a lap down. He was able to
make up the lap but time ran out before he could get back into the top 10.
After the race Jody said, “This is the same car we wrecked at Myrtle Beach
and it will handle good for 40-50 laps, but then it goes away. We have tried
and tried but haven’t been able to find the problem. We’ll take another car
to Bristol and hopefully we can run better.”
Jody still remains 9th in the Southern points with 2 races remaining –
Bristol on August 23rd and Lakeland on September 2. The first of six
championship races begins in Iowa on September 15th. Races will be replayed
on the Speed channel at 4 pm on Wednesdays and noon on Fridays. Also, races
are replayed on Turner South at 8 pm on Saturdays and several other stations
at various times.
