Lavender Finishes Tenth in Sears Auto Center Ford

Mooresville, NC (July 24, 2006) - Jody Lavender had a roller coaster run at The Southern National Speedway in Kenly, NC last weekend. He qualified 10th in the Sears Auto Center Ford and moved up to 6th by lap 109. A bad pit stop dropped him back to 23rd. The competition was strong as all cars in the starting lineup had qualified within slightly over .3 of a second from first to last. Jody moved back up through the pack and finished 10th.

Jody remains 9th in the point standings and is less than 100 points behind 4th position with only three races remaining in the tight Southern division points race. The three remaining races are at Peach State, GA on Aug 12, Bristol, TN on Aug 23, and Lakeland, FL on Sept 2.

The six race National Championship will begin in Newton, Iowa on Sept 15 and end in Lakeland, FL on Nov 25.
