Finishes Eighth at Hickory

Mooresville, NC (July 10, 2006) - Forty
cars showed up to battle for 32 starting positions at Hickory
Speedway which meant that eight were sent home. After the race, many
of the remaining 32 looked like they had been in a demolition derby.
Jody wasn’t satisfied with the 8th place finish but at least the car
was still in one piece.
Jody said, “This was the same car we wrecked at Myrtle Beach. It
had to be completely rebuilt; even the dash in the car was bent from
the wreck. |
We didn’t get the car back as good as it was but we were improving.
We were 20th in practice, 13th in qualifying, and finished 8th. It was
also one of those races where we were always in the wrong place at the wrong
time. We couldn’t get any good track positions. We spent most of the race
avoiding wrecks.”

Before the race, Jody was 12th in points and the 8th place finish
moves him back up to 9th place.
The next Hooters Pro Cup race will be on July 22nd at Southern National
Raceway Park in Kenly, NC where Jody finished 4th last year.
