Lavender Breaks Twice in Concord

Mooresville, NC (May 4, 2006) - Prior to the race at Concord last weekend, Jody Lavender had completed an amazing 99.9% of the laps in the last 18 races of the Hooters Pro-Cup series. Out of a possible 4477 laps, he completed 4472, missing only 5 laps. The streak started at Concord Motorsport Park in 2005 and was broken at the same track on April 29, 2006.

The second break came in the Concord race when Jody broke an engine on lap 52 and had to settle for a 31st place finish, which was the worst of his Pro-Cup career. He also dropped from 6th to 11th place in the Southern Division points.

Lavender said, “We have 3 weeks off and then we have races for the next 5 weeks. We plan to run Jennerstown on May 27, Lakeland on June 3, and on June 10th, we plan to run the NASCAR Busch East race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. We had an old Busch car we haven’t run in about 3 years, so we dusted it off, fired it up, and went to Greenville to test. The test went good so we slapped some blue paint on it and we’ll run #88. After that, we plan to be back in the Pro-Cup series to run Indianapolis Raceway Park on June 17th and Myrtle Beach on June 24th.”
