Lavender Jumps to 6th in National Points

Mooresville, NC (November 30, 2005) - In the final race of the season for the Hooters Pro Cup Series at Lakeland Florida, Hartsville’s Jody Lavender finished 9th in the race and moved up to 6th in the National points. This is a big improvement over 28th last year.

After the race, Lavender said, “We’re a little disappointed that we didn’t finish in the top five but 6th looks good when we consider there were over 80 teams that competed this year. We had a good car most of the race and were running 3rd with about 20 laps remaining when a lapped car pushed me up the track and I lost ten positions. Racing in this division is like Talladega in Dayton – If you get out of the groove, you can get freighttrained back to the back.”

Lavender finished only 14 points behind 5th place, only 15 points behind 4th place, and only 25 points behind 3rd place in a very close battle. According to Lavender, “This is one of the most competitive series around. It has some of the best and most experienced drivers around. The drivers are just a good bunch of drivers to be around and to compete with. I enjoy racing with them. I would like to thank USAR Pro Cup for giving us a series to compete in.
