Lavender Finishes Second in Ohio Championship Race
 

Mooresville, NC (October 11, 2005) - Jody Lavender continued to have a strong run towards the National Hooters Pro Cup Championship with a second place finish at Mansfield Motorsports Park last weekend. This was the second race in the five race Championship Series and Lavender jumped from 14th to 8th place in the championship battle and is only 39 points out of 1st place in a very close race.

In the first race at Jennerstown, Pa., Lavender had a power steering pump go out and finished 18th.

After the Mansfield race, Lavender said, "We had a good car on long runs all night, but it took us a few laps to get going after a restart." Again, I'd like to thank "Birdie", Steve Bird, my crew chief, and all my crew members for the great job they did. With a little break, we would have had another win today. The third race of the Championship Series is at Myrtle Beach Speedway on October 22nd and Lavender said, "I always look forward to going to Myrtle Beach. It's our home track in the Pro Cup series, and we'll be doing our best to win."
